SouthernLINC Wireless is seeking an experienced Group Product Manager to oversee the development and execution of strategy for products supporting SouthernLINC Wireless market segment and retention strategies, sales, and average cost per unit targets. The Group Product Manager will work closely with Market Information & Segmentation, Product Development, Finance and Sales to develop compelling strategies, tactics, and goals for all SouthernLINC Wireless products and execute, measure, and adjust strategies accordingly. Anticipated overnight travel for this position is up to 20%. The Group Product Manager will supervise three employees and report directly to the Vice President of Marketing and Customer Support. This position is located at SouthernLINC's Corporate Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities of the Group Product Manager includes driving product strategy by understanding the needs of the various markets which SouthernLINC Wireless serves; prioritizing and communicating requirements, and monitoring the success of SouthernLINC Wireless' products. The Group Product Manager must understand the competitive landscape for SouthernLINC Wireless product offers and devise strategies for addressing competitive threats. In addition, the Group Product Manager will develop and maintain business plans for various SouthernLINC Wireless products and will present product strategies to the SouthernLINC Wireless executive team, periodically.
The Group Product Manager responsibilities also include business planning, marketing strategy, product positioning, pricing, sales strategy, and product information and market development plans.
Oversee development and implementation of product strategies for market segments and new product/service offerings.
Provide marketing/sales support for new business opportunities.
Provide input into development of product roadmap.
Manage the subsidy budget.
Regularly interact with internal and external customers to understand product pricing, positioning, promotion, and packaging opportunities.
Communicate linkage of product strategy to key departments and internal customers.
Work with the Marketing leadership team to ensure effective execution of the product strategy to produce results.
Manage the handoff of products from Product Development to Product Management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
Minimum 7 years experience in marketing, product development or business development, preferably in wireless communications
Demonstrated leadership abilities essential to motivating a productive team
Outstanding analytical skills required to validate assumptions for product mix, usage, revenue, and margin and to assist in building financial cases; including the ability to pull actionable decisions from raw quantitative and qualitative data on both a product and market levels
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required with demonstrated experience communicating product strategy, pricing, position, etc
Highly organized with careful attention to detail, excellent planning and priority setting skills
Demonstrated ability to think strategically, as well as tactically
Project management experience, a plus
High level of proficiency in MS Office products (Excel, Access, Project, Word, and PowerPoint)
