Senior MAC Software Engineer
Would you like the chance to take part in the implementation of our cutting-edge WiMAX Base Station MAC (media access control) layer and proprietary extensions within a multi-DSP processor environment? We are searching for the right candidate for this integral role to work with MAC layer software, advance your professional skill set with WiMax technology, and work inside a company leading the advance of wireless technology!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Close collaboration with the Integration & Test team in debugging and tuning of the MAC layer software in lab and field trials.
- Implementation in C++ of the MAC layer for our WiMax-compliant Base Station.
- Integration of the MAC layer software with the hardware, the operating system, and the PHY (physical) layer.
- Close collaboration with the Systems Engineering group in development, optimization, & tuning of the key algorithms for the current and next generation processors.
- This is a full-time position and reports to the VP of engineering.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & SKILLS:
- BSEE/BSCS or degree in related field
- 4+ years experience implementing high-performance networking/MAC software in embedded systems.
- Superb C/C++ coding skills
- Experience with the MAC layer algorithms of OFDM &OFDMA communication systems, and in particular Mobile WiMax (802.16e), is a must.
- Familiarity with hardware/software integration
- Experience writing code using a real-time operating system.
- Expertise with TCP/IP protocol stacks, Network management and embedded SNMP agents, telco FCAPS requirements & implementation, test equipment, and compliance/certification testing are all desirable

I have 16+ yrs of experience of working in wireless industry in different positions. Currently working on 802.11 based products and more excited to work on Wi-Max. I am based in Singapore right now for past 8 yrs.

An award winning company inSouthern California is searching for a motivated and experienced Systems engineer to assist customers in specifying, designing & implementing the hardware platform, networking configuration, and application configurations necessary to effectively use unique company solutions.

Essential Functions:

- System installation, configuration, integration, testing and cutover for live traffic

- System acceptance from vendors and delivering systems to customers

- Ability to work face-to-face with customers and prospects on technical design

- Ability to troubleshoot operating platforms and guide repair/service restoration efforts

- Good technical writing/documentation skills

- Ability to liaise between sales, support and engineering to meet customer requirements

- Provide assistance in making technical/budgetary trade-offs where needed

Qualifications:

- B.S. in computer science or information systems or higher

- 5 plus years industry experience in hardware (server, router, SAN, firewall, etc.) and software installation and configuration
