The Enterprise Architecture Services team is a dynamic and influential group within Corporate IT, representing diverse backgrounds and specific focus areas. Extending beyond the role of technologists, these individuals require strong business acumen. Responsibilities range from establishing strategies with business and IT executives, prioritizing key initiatives with management, and leading technical resources through vision, design and execution.
This position will focus on corporate developed mobile applications, with specific emphasis on technologies field sales and service personnel. This position is responsible for the development of the technical roadmap in addition to the review, selection and approval of tools and technologies for use within this area. The associate will interact with management to establish vision and direction while working with staff to promote successful execution.
Main Responsibilities
• Responsible for technical and architectural leadership of their focus area.
• Establish and oversee adherence to standards and best practices related to their focus area.
• Articulate and contribute to business strategy, technical strategy, high-level technical design, detailed technical design, and implementation.
• Provides objective and unbiased analysis, balancing short and long-term objectives, customer needs, business constraints, and technological realities.
• Work within and across business lines and technology groups to understand and align technical requirements and technology choices.
• Lead or participate in RFP’s, POC’s, vendor and product analysis, and prototyping activities.
• Establish and maintain a trusted advisor role to IT business liaisons and direct business contacts.
• Establish and maintain close working relationships with corporate and departmental IT managers, technical resources, business analysts, and project managers.
• Coach and mentor other associates on technical skill development.
• Analyze technology industry and market trends providing guidance on potential impact.
• Engage with strategic vendors to stay apprised of changes in relevant trends and technologies.
Basic Qualifications
• 8+ years of IT experience in at least two disciplines including but not limited to technical architecture, application development, middleware, database management, and operations.
• 3+ years experience in the architecture, design, and development of field sales and service mobile solutions.
• 3+ years experience delivering solutions for various Microsoft based device types including laptops, tablets, ultra-mobile, and PDA style devices.
• 3+ years experience delivering solutions for various connectivity scenarios ranging from dial-up to WWAN.
• 3+ years experience with secure applications, addressing common security issues such as SQL Injection, buffer overruns, and cross-site scripting.
• 3+ years experience integrating with Active Directory for authentication and authorization.
• 3+ years of experience in a midsize or large corporation supporting multiple lines of business with global presence.
• 2+ years knowledge and understanding of SOA and web service technologies including but not limited to WSDL, SOAP, UDDI, XML, DTD, and XSLT.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent experience.
• Exceptional analytical and technical skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including collaboration, facilitation, negotiation, and persuasion.
• Extensive working knowledge of OOAD and design patterns.
• Understanding of technology lifecycle costs sufficient to estimate TCO impact.
• Experience with mobile Sales Force Automation or Field Management packages.
• Experience with Multichannel Access Gateway frameworks.
• Knowledge and experience in architecture and design in Microsoft client technologies (VB, C#, .NET, .NET Compact Framework).
• Experience with architecture and design in Java client technologies (Web Start, SE, ME).
• Experience with architectural frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman.
• Knowledge of Accenture Development Methodology (formerly Method1).
• Awareness of packaged system technologies including ERP and CRM solutions from vendors such as SAP.

Security Consultant: Application Security / Engineering
Los Angeles Area, CA
Functional Responsibilities:
The Verizon consultant will provide support for conducting application vulnerability assessments utilizing tools such as WebInspect and AppScan. The Verizon consultant will provide support for application security reviews, application security control audits, and application penetration testing. Application security code review experience is preferred. The Verizon consultant will provide support for periodic security testing by external auditors and the associated remediation activities. The Verizon consultant will provide support for on-going and new security projects, including, but not limited to documenting application security standards, application monitoring, and activity logging. The Verizon consultant will provide support for security incident response services, including participating in the cross-functional incident response team (SIRT) and handling those security events whose threat level doesn’t warrant the mobilization of the SIRT. This support also includes providing timely response to urgent staff termination actions.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
2+ years experience with application security reviews and analysis, security monitoring, and implementing application security solutions. Working knowledge of application security concepts and industry guidelines such as OWASP Top 10. Working knowledge of application security testing techniques and tools, database interaction, and operating system security. Working knowledge of application encryption/authentication technologies. Working knowledge of security services involving networks, firewalls, client-server environments, and relational database systems. Information security theory and practices. 3-4 years previous experience with security testing tools like Nessus, nCircle, Metasploit, Canvas, Core Impact, WebInspect, AppScan, or similar tools and experience with penetration testing. Previous consulting experience. Good communication and technical writing skills.
Preferred Certifications:
CISSP, SSCP, CEH, SANS certifications such as GWAS and GSSP
