Manager of Finance- Roaming at Cox Communications

Summary of Position:

Complete financial and business analysis to support roaming coverage business decisions at both a consolidated and local market level.

Prepare financial models to support scenario planning for contract negotiations, partnerships, etc.
Support roaming partner relationship managers in developing strategies for negotiating with domestic roaming partners.

Accurately analyze and record revenue and expense with wholesale roaming partners to ensure financial data is accurately recorded.

Analyze roaming expense by operator to identify issues, including appropriate levels of traffic (i.e., fraud or reselling), appropriate pricing, etc.

Prepare management presentations to support projects related to footprint management, expense optimization and new roaming business development opportunities.

Participate in Cox's wireless monthly and annual budget and forecasting processes. Work with corporate and field counterparts to identify and quantify any budget variances, and establish action plans to resolve.

Primary roaming subject matter expert in the planning, designing, and implementing of business plans.

Aggregate data on operational issues related to roaming and provide recommendations and suggestions on how to improve overall product and operational performance.

Monitor competitive activity and identify opportunities and/or threats.

Prepare, maintain and present reporting to communicate results of all roaming initiatives on a periodic or ad-hoc basis on a consolidated, local market or partner data as needed

The Manager of Finance, Roaming will accomplish the above tasks by:

-Building strong working relationships with multi-faceted teams internal and external to Cox Communications, including but not be limited to Product Development, Engineering, MIS, Marketing, Public Relations, Legal/Regulatory, Customer Care, Training, local markets and Wireless/cable industry partners.

-Using strong analytical skills to assist in making key decisions to sustain the creation and growth of this business.

Qualifications:

BS or BA degree in Finance or related field or comparable business experience required. Masters degree or other professional qualifications are a plus.

Four to eight years of finance, accounting, strategic planning, and/or business development experience with at least three to five years supervisory experience in managing people, projects and budgets required.

Significant background within wireless industry, a basic understanding of wireless networks and roaming relationships preferred

Ability to utilize standard software tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and other analytical packages.

Experience with GIS software a plus

Possess strong planning capabilities, communications skills and presentation skills.

Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail.

Strong initiative and the ability to drive projects to completion with limited supervision.

Capacity for strategic thinking and business development.

Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively influence team members through consensus building and ability to get results through others.

Must be able to interface with team members from various disciplines including: Engineering,
Marketing, Public Relations, Finance, Legal, MIS, and field system personnel. Must be able to interface effectively with external vendors and industry peers.

Cable industry experience a plus.

Willingness to travel 10% - 15% of the time.
