POSITION SUMMARY
The successful candidate will be responsible for the Development and implementation of complex security systems to assist in event identification, containment, and investigation routines that will increase the effectiveness of the security operations technologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
• Development and implementation of automation routines and information collection and identification tools for detection and investigation of security related infrastructure outages and configuration errors
• Provide security consulting and development of general & customized security technology configurations for the integration of business units and external customers into Security Operations
• Leads the improvement efforts to gather, analyze, and define security operations technology and information security requirements for SIEM and other operational security tools
• Analysis and documentation, including root cause analysis, of information security incidents as well as the analysis of the circumstances enabling or permitting these same incidents to take place
• Advises on how to configures and tune one or more security monitoring solutions to ensure that only authorized personnel have access to RIM systems and networks, and that only authorized activity is taking place on RIM systems and networks
• Create reports on security threats, incidents, exceptions, blocks, filters and other indicators of system or network security
• Commitment to Professional Development and advancement
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Detailed knowledge of industry leading security applications, including SIEM (Security Incident and Event Management) tools
• Knowledge of multiple operating systems and applicable system administration skills (Windows, Solaris, Linux)
• Experience with network troubleshooting tools like network sniffers, TCPDUMP or IPTRACE utilities
• Experience with Database Software, SQL statements, Regular Expressions and Boolean Logic
• Excellent written and verbal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences
• Must be able to lead presentations to senior management
• Detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
